Embracing change in one aspect of your life has a sort of snowball effect: It usually rolls change through all aspects of your life.
(Read: Embracing Change. Nothing embodies the unknown like a new baby.)
Deciding to marry an Italian and move to Italy four years ago is a clear example – every aspect of my life was changed! Now, welcoming sweet baby Adeline into our lives, the snowball gets bigger. A newborn changes everything, not least of which our travel plans.
As an Italophile, Sagittarius and insatiably curious person, I absolutely need travel in my life. Now, my curiosity extends to how travel will fit in our lives with an infant.
We didn’t do any hard-core traveling this year, but we certainly didn’t get bored!
There was still plenty to do and see in 2017:
We toured Pavia and its ancient university.
We found new paths up to Bergamo Alta.
We saw art in rich people’s homes and strolled their beautiful gardens.
We explored new spots on the Lake,
and visited Monza with fresh eyes.
We took Addie’s first long-haul flight to America.
There, we visited my alma mater,
and Kelley’s Island for a gorgeous wedding.
We met family,
and played with friends.
After America, we fell in love with Camogli during a far-too-short visit,
Besides America, most of our travel was close to home, but we certainly lived the travel spirit:
We went to art exhibits
and took naps.
We read books,
and had parties.
We went on walks…
…and more walks.
Then we went to the mountains and hiked some more.
We enjoyed our own backyard and the view from our balcony
Because besides, with a lot of firsts in 2017, there was always plenty to do!
